Q: How do I know what service is right for me?
A: When you contact the front office, they will review expectations of treatment and PSYCHē while getting an overview of your concerns. Our staff will consult on what services will likely be recommended prior to scheduling an intake for further discussion. Take a look at the APPROACH section of our site to get an idea of what you would like out of therapy. Having an idea of your personal expectations will help us match you with the right clinician.
Q: Why does it cost so much and why don't you take insurance??
A: Not to brag, but our clinicians are so skilled and highly trained, we actually don't have to take insurance to fill our caseloads. We don't take just any case and the ones we do, we give it our ALL. We are totally worth it. For insurance sake, know that PSYCHē is an "Out-of-Network" provider which means we don't take insurance directly. Now that doesn't mean you can't use your insurance. Whooooa...hold up? Bear with me. Because we chose long ago to "opt out" of participation in insurance, we have saved time and effort that we continue to put into YOUR care. But the really cool thing is, for most of our providers, you can file with insurance and get reimbursed a substantial amount of money (60% or more in some cases). Just ask us about how to submit a superbill--we're glad to help. We've also had great luck with writing a letter on your behalf explaining to the insurance company that we are basically the only ones around offering this level of care! Did you know we are the ONLY ones within 200 miles with a Board Certified DBT therapist on staff? You may even seek prior approval and get the whole thing covered as an "In Network" service even though it's not! We've seen it happen more than once.
Q: Do you prescribe medication?
A: We do not have a prescribing provider on staff but collaborate with many Providers in the area. For more information on recommended clinicians and programs in the area visit our REFERRALS page.
Q: How do I make a payment?
A: We require payment to be made online or via phone for all first time appointments. This minimizes the likelihood that we will be targeted by an axe murderer and also holds your time slot--'cause it's already paid for! We use Paypal, but you don't have to have a Paypal account to make it work. Click the "Pay Via Paypal" button on the CONTACT US page and you will be redirected to the PayPal website. Q: How much is each session?
A: That depends on which therapist you choose, how much expertise and experience they have, and whether they are in training or are fully licensed. Check the THERAPISTS section for more information on each clinician's rates. Group rates also vary. We usually have students-in-training with limited slots for reduced rate treatment--call or email to find out if there's an opening.
